Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Supply Chain Intrinsic department in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will report to the Intrinsic Cellar Manager.
Purpose of the position
To ensure the efficient operation of the COE Intrinsic Research Cellar, Str 64 w.r.t wines, cider, spirits, Amarula cream and functional products (storage, blend, breakdown and filtration, etc) to provide the required product at the required quality and quantity to the requesters within COE Intrinsic department, on time and to ensure proper admin within the Str 64 cellar division.
The position is directly linked to the Food Safety Management System. The individual plays an integral part as a Food Safety Member.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain effective housekeeping, hygiene and safety practices.
• Oversee daily cellar operations.
• Blending consistent quality products OTIF.
• Manage bulk stock and chemicals stock effectively.
• Minimise losses and write-offs.
• Effective admin housekeeping.
• Train, supervise and motivate people in the cellar.
• Ensure products and requests received adhere to company quality specifications.
• Liaise with internal customers and other departments on site concerning weekly planning.
• Planning and coordinating daily tasks within the cellar environment.
• Food safety team member to actively ensure adherence to the food safety management systems in the cellar.
• Involvement with internal and self-audits.
• Lead TPM business principles and practices in the Intrinsic Cellar.
• Follow Heineken Beverages’ policies and procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate must have the following Skills and experience:
• Matric plus relevant qualification in Cellar Technology.
• Extensive knowledge in wine, spirits and cider production and packaging processes.
• Experience and knowledge in Cream liqueur blending and beer brewing.
• Experience in managing and leading a team.
• Sound leadership and conflict handling experience.
• Ability to work independently.
• Computer literacy ( MS Suite, Outlook, TEAMS, etc)
