Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
· Perform quality checks on samples in accordance with required procedures as per sampling plans.
· Conduct analyses of results and identify problems and improvement opportunities and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.
· Training of packaging personnel on process control procedures.
· Report and manage non-conforming dry goods and filled product.
· Maintain the Quality Management System standards.
· Maintain measuring and testing equipment (calibration, verification and maintenance).
· Conduct audits to confirm adherence to ISO 9001 and procedures.
· Perform administrative duties.
· Initiate, investigate and assist in problem solving regarding packaging materials and processes.
· Initiate Corrective and Preventative actions out of audits or non-conformances.
· Instil a quality culture in his / her area of responsibility and influence.
· Report non-conformances timeously and liaise between the Quality, Packaging and Materials.
· Build and maintain effective and trusting relationships with internal customers.
· Initiate improvements and the implementation thereof.
· Participate in E2 implementation.
· Ensure adherence to 5S, housekeeping and GLP’s.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
· A recognised and relevant Degree / Diploma in Natural Sciences or in the final stages of completing the qualification.
· Relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment (working experience on beverage lines will be advantageous).
· Working knowledge of Health and Safety standards, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001 and SANS 1841 will be advantageous.
· Ability to work under pressure and accurately while paying attention to detail.
· Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities are essential.
· Must be responsible and punctual.
· Ability to reflect good leadership behaviour towards colleagues, superior and company values.
· Proven written and communication skills on all levels.
· Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
· Display knowledge and insight where to obtain information and interpret information relevant to own work area.
· Ability to implement controls to ensure the achievement of quality standards.
· Strong ability to do problem-solving, fault-finding and knowledge of various problem solving methods.
· Creativity that enhances continuous improvement is a pre-requisite.
· Ability to cope with the inherent physical demands of the position.
· Computer literacy, preferably MS Office, LIMS and SAP will be considered advantageous.
· Must be willing to work shifts and overtime if and when required.
