Cellar Controller
Applications are invited to apply for the above-mentioned position to be based at Supply Chain, Springs within the Cellar department. The successful applicant will report to the Cellar Team Leader.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure the timeous supply of the right quality and quantity of bulk product within the required specifications in the most cost-effective manner.
- Ensure effective planning, ordering and offloading of the bulk product through competent and empowered staff.
- Implement and execute initiatives to limit losses, write-offs and bulk variances
- Maintain timeous, effective and efficient service levels to all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that quality standards, policies and procedures for receiving bulk products are adhered to
- Reporting and management of the non-conforming bulk product
- Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Execute performance management of subordinates
- Ensure training and development of subordinates to meet business objectives.
- Facilitate and participate in problem-solving activities.
- Ensure effective housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Facilitate and participate in MWDT activities of the team.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
- Tertiary qualification within Food Technology, Microbiology or similar qualification.
- Ability to implement planning methods, techniques and procedures.
- Ability to monitor health and safety in the department and take corrective action where necessary.
- Ability to utilise procedures and methods to gather management information (Focus on the gathering of management information including outside own department)
- Ability to gather and interpret management information from multiple sources relevant to department/segment to be utilised at an organisation level to make decisions
- Able to implement stock control methods and techniques in own division/department
- Able to develop and implement controls to ensure the achievement of quality standards within the Cellar
- Ability to foresee problems and to be proactive in dealing with these
- Must be able to communicate effectively on all levels
- Computer literacy in MS office is essential
- Computer literacy on SAP R/3 would be an added advantage
- Ability to develop the skills of team members in their own work area regarding specific tasks
- Ability to direct a team in its own area towards goal accomplishment
- To reflect good leadership behaviour – towards colleagues, superiors and company values
