Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at Louis Trichardt. The successful person will report directly to the Logistics Manager.
Purpose of the Position
|
The effective management of all activities in the Distribution Centre Warehouse relating to Customer Deliveries and the completion of all reasonable tasks to ensure the operational efficiency of Heineken. The successful applicant will be the designated stand-in for the Logistics Manager as well as assist and support Heineken’s endeavour to become more responsive to our competitors, customers and consumers. |
Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure cost effective warehousing and distribution of company products
- Ensure the effective functioning of Optimal Transport Management, Customer Deliveries and Outsource services
- Responsible for the effective operation of all systems and procedures
- Ensure the cost-effective maintenance of company vehicles, material handling equipment and site
- Effective co-operation and communication with the local sales department
- Assist the Logistics Manager in engaging the transport suppliers to maintain optimal fleet uptime for deliveries
- Conduct regular fleet inspections and ensure adherence to road traffic legislation
- Monitoring and understand fleet key performance indicators and implement corrective action plans where required and ensuring that SLAs are in place
- Warehouse management including stock availability, quality, DOC and working capital
- Manage returnable and ensure that all product invoicing and empty returns procedures are adhered to
- Financial management including the reduction of overtime and the usage of temporary employees
- Ensuring Asset Management Master data is up to date and accurate
- Maintain a high level of customer service
- Effective 3rd Party management
- Responsible for the end to end Owner Driver management in line with the latest Owner Driver Management guidelines
- Ensure that customers receive deliveries within the agreed service levels and meet all customer service requirements
- Ensure strict adherence to a Corporate Governance with regards to Risk and Quality
- Understanding, implementation and adherence to the Internal Control measures such as ICC’s, ISO requirements, Owner Driver Audits and Operations Excellence
- Perform administration and reporting effectively
- Responsible for daily transport (Owner Driver) reconciliations (Losses and gains)
- Responsible for Settlement (returnable materials) reconciliations
- Hand held device (DRM Management) – responsible for the monitoring of connectivity
- Responsible for Fleet COF and licensing
- Management of Hired vehicles and Crew
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Matric certificate
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Management
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant experience in FMCG Logistics / Distribution environment in a supervisory role
- Proficient in MS Office
- SAP, Strato, Qlikview, SuccessFactors experience would be beneficial
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and sound presentation skills
- The ability to work after hours and / or shifts if necessary
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practice
- Experience in a customer service environment is essential
