Role purpose:
|
To maintain, operate and control all Utilities Plants, (superheated water, cooling, compressed air, CO₂, water treatment, waste water treatment, power supply), in good operating condition and according to planned maintenance and effective operations . Ensures that Utility Plants achieve the objectives and requirements in terms of reliability, quality, efficiency, and costs, conform Heineken and South African rules and regulations. Champion of Corporate Sustainability Program.

Targets:
Achieve the optimum consumption of all utilities:
- Record all utility usage and identify abnormalities, including all corrective and preventative actions.
- Analyse the utility consumption with help of MES, UCMS, and/or manual meter reading.
- Initiate activities (in close coordination with other departments) in order to achieve the targets set.
- Deliver on Reclamation target set up by brewery.
- Deliver on Energy and water targets set up by Brewery
- Deliver on quality of CO2, Air, Water, Cooling with zero impact on production continuity
- Deliver on E&W targets as set up by brewery and including setting up the budget.
- Manage the plant operations to achieve zero impact to production cause by quality or equipment downtime.
Skill Adaptation:
Plan and organize maintenance work of all machines and equipment in Utility Plant to ensure maximum reliability.
- Coordinate with contractors for planned maintenance work.
- Assign and follow-up daily maintenance tasks and work orders to Utility Operators.
- Organize spare parts for all equipment in Utilities Department.
- Execute all action to get all utilities within specification.
- Preparation of check lists out of the training material in order to make it easy to understand for the operator which tasks have to be executed during his shift and to make checks possible.
- Make use of the MCRS-system to initiate the necessary changes and/or increased sustainability.
- Preparation, checking, and/or updating standard operating procedures, one point lessons, CILT-lists, SMED-lists, etc.
- Updates skill matrix of all utility and waste water treatment plant operators.
Sustainability:
Support the implementation of Corporate Sustainability Initiatives
- Promoting and implementing of all corporate sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare all necessary reporting to support the corporate initiatives.
- Initiate and prepare deployments to mobilize necessary improvement activities in order to meet the Corporate Sustainability Targets.
- Prepare three and five year plans in order to meet the Corporate Sustainability Targets set.
TPM Methodology:
Support the implementation continuous improvement initiatives.
- Closely coordinate with the FI-pillar to control targets for all utility consumption for all departments, including all corrective and preventative actions.
- Promoting and demonstrating the use of TPM routes and methodologies, including MCRS.
- Train utility personnel on improvement methodologies like root cause analysis, fishbone diagram, 5xwhy analysis, kaizen, etc.
- Performing audits as well on the utility processes and procedures as on improvement teams.

Qualifications and experience
|
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 - 10 years in engineering, production, or related field in Utilities plants
- 5-10 years’ experience as Utilities specialist or similar roles: and Minimum S4 (National Dip Mech/Chem/Elec Eng.), S4 and or studying towards.
- 10-15 years’ experience as Utilities specialist or similar roles: N6 Engineering qualification
Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of Utility processes. Knowledge of TPM, UCMS, and MES
