Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at Supply Chain, Eco-Wash. The successful candidate will report to the RPM Manager.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining machinery and equipment on the site per required standard.
- Maintaining and repairing site equipment and building maintenance.
- Attend to breakdowns on packaging machinery and equipment.
- Adherence to Planned and Preventative maintenance schedules.
- Improving OEE and ME (Overall Equipment Efficiency, Machine efficiency) on all production lines.
- Reduce unplanned downtime by improving MTBF (Mean time between failures) and MTTR (Mean time to repair).
- Health and Safety supervision of machinery, equipment and working environment.
- Compliance to OHS Act.
- Provide an effective Engineering service to the Production department.
- Perform administrative tasks (job cards, quality check sheets, etc.)
- Perform stand-in duties, when required.
- Leading and supervising people.
- Participate in TPM empowering excellence.
- Maintenance ICC’s
- Plan utilities availability
- Store management
- Ensure efficient asset utilization
- Ensure that plant maintenance standards are met
- Ensure RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) principles are applied
- Compile, manage and control maintenance budget
- Assist with compiling short and long term equipment replacement plan.
- Approve cost estimates and capital proposals
- Manage abnormal and capex projects
- Ensure adherence to Procurement procedure
- · Ensure compliance to the QMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC, IFS, HACCP, Organic, ISO 17025, SANS 1841)
- Ensure crew complies and adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, work instruction and SOPs at all times
- Accept the role of HACCP team member (if required)
- Accept the role of Food defense team member (if required)
- Accept the role of Environmental team member (if required
- Ensure compliance to OHSACT and all Distell Risk, Health and Safety procedures and statutory requirements. ·
- Ensure that unsafe conditions are reported and rectified.
- GMR2(General Machinery Regulation)
- Lead team according to Secondary Production Operating Principles to achieve line objectives – Quality; Speed and Cost
- Ensure sound employee relations, corrective and grievance procedures are effectively managed in department
- Performance management is applied effectively.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of resources in the department.
- Ensure training and coaching in department takes place
- Ensure culture of continuous improvement is developed and maintained at all levels
- Achieved Business Plans
- Support and encourage the values of the company
- Actively involved in Problem solving
- Managing projects and initiatives
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
- N3-N6 equivalent with Trade Certificate, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualifications
- Grade 12 or Electrical/Mechanical qualification.
- Experience in a high speed, high-tech bottling operation will be advantageous.
- Completed apprenticeship with recognized Institution i.e., was registered as an apprentice.
- 3-5 relevant working experience in the FMCG
- Ability to work under pressure and display good attention to detail.
- Proven ability in problem solving and knowledge of the various problem-solving methods.
- Must be self-motivated, innovative and able to work without or limited supervision.
- To reflect good leadership behavior - towards colleagues, superior and company values
- Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime when required.
