Purpose

The role is provides assistance to commercial export operations in Africa. The main goal is selling the HBI portfolio and managing key distributors and activities within the designated area (Rest of Africa)ROA. This includes distributor and Group account engagement, distributor and Group account planning in close cooperation with Marketing and Trade Marketing.

 

Key Responsbilities 

  • Responsible for volume and revenue development.
  • Responsible for the input and development of annual commercial plans for the export portfolio in alignment with HBI and the full cross functional commercial team
  • Responsible for development of activity plans based on the annual commercial plan per country.
  • Responsible Managing the distributors and Group account agenda in the defined area. Including monthly meetings, forecast cycle, credit control and budgets.
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of local distribution agreements in defined area, in close alignment with HBI
  • Responsible for key negotiations for retention and development of business.
  • Responsible for analysing monthly sales depletions and taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Responsible for assessment and giving input in shaping the optimal  Route to Consumer setup in export markets
  • Responsible for managing assigned Sales & Marketing budgets as well as Fixed Expenses for the area.  Input in development of bottom up budgets on annual basis to deliver agreed plans in close cooperation with the cross functional commercial team.

 

Requirements

  • A relevant 3-year degree
  • At least 3 – 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills: Role manages relationships with multiple stakeholders (with conflicting interests/cultural diversity) on both a strategic and tactical level. The ability to have difficult conversations and drive a compelling agenda are key skills.  Must be able to negotiate and influence others and drive a strong ‘’win-win’’ agenda with our partners.
  • Other skills: Passion for Sales and driving value growth, collaborative, ability to flex style in a challenging external environment, energized by change, an entrepreneurial drive and hunger to win, and ability to connect comfortably in a cross cultural setting. A think out of the box, rather than thinking in “why nots” attitude.
