JOB PURPOSE 

The role involves coordinating month end closing activities, managing fixes assets, inventory, working capital and ensure compliance with Heineken’s accounting policies and procedures. Serving the company’s needs for management information regarding financial data and relevant non-financial data with the purpose of giving insight of the company’s performance and support management decisions.  . 

CONTEXT

Oversees the process of the monthly financial close, consolidation, and reporting; finalize close position; consolidation and financial reporting (incl. CIL) and accounting policy compliance and expertise 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES 

• Custodian of the company’s standard chart of accounts. Ensure to review the accounts, update the accounts if necessary and guide the users the correctness of accounts usage as per Heineken standards.  

• Coordinating month end closing activities and ensure timely submission of financial data for group reporting.  

• Preparation of statutory financials statements. 

• Preparation of the Annual Report and account published by the company.  

• Managing intercompany reporting. 

• Fixed asset management. 

• Inventory management. 

• Coordinating and reviewing balance sheet accounts reconciliation on monthly basis. 

• Coordinating both internal and external audit.  

• Guide and coach the accounting team, and ensure optimal performance and realization of the potential. 

• Provide ad hoc financial information where required. 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics. 

• 3-5 years experience within industry and finance  

• CPA/ACCA certification 

• Strong financial and accounting knowledge. 

• Strong in Excel 

• Experience in reporting activities. 

• Excellent leadership and coaching abilities. 

• Proficiency in using financial systems. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Fluency in English, Kinyarwanda. French is an added advantage

• Be able to work in multi-cultural, multi-national and multi-lingual organization 

• Excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills 

• Time Management and Organizational Skills 

• High level of commitment and working with minimal supervision 

• Must be proactive, reliable and able to pay keen attention to the smallest of details
