ABOUT THE ROLE

The Digital Coordinator is HEINEKEN's primary point of contact with the media agency and is responsible for coordinating, providing strategic direction, and evaluating the performance of the agency across the Romania and Bulgaria markets. This role does not involve direct campaign execution; rather, it ensures that the agency delivers in line with brand direction, business objectives, and HEINEKEN's standards.

The role holder acts as a demanding and knowledgeable internal client — capable of critically evaluating agency output, providing high-quality briefs, and ensuring consistent alignment between digital activity and the integrated communication strategy, working closely with the Head of Media.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Agency Coordination

  • Serve as the primary interface between HEINEKEN and the media agency, ensuring a clear, efficient and results-driven working relationship.
  • Develop and deliver clear strategic briefs to the agency, with well-defined objectives, KPIs, target audiences, and constraints.
  • Review and validate campaign plans, channel recommendations, and budget allocations proposed by the agency.
  • Ensure the agency meets deadlines, agreed deliverables, and HEINEKEN's internal approval processes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of the agency and provide structured feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Digital Strategy & Direction

  • Translate marketing and brand objectives into clear digital directions for the agency, ensuring consistency with the integrated media strategy.
  • Contribute to defining the annual media strategy for Romania and Bulgaria, in collaboration with the Head of Media and media team.
  • Ensure digital activities contribute to full-funnel effectiveness and business outcomes, not only media performance metrics.
  • Provide strategic perspective and constructive challenge to agency recommendations, ensuring plans are relevant and ambitious.
  • Translate market trends and innovations into relevant, actionable directions for the business

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Define, together with the agency, the measurement framework and relevant KPIs for each campaign and channel.
  • Review and validate performance reports delivered by the agency, ensuring data accuracy and quality of insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Media and relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Track budget compliance and the efficiency of digital investment across the brand portfolio.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all digital campaigns comply with HEINEKEN's responsible marketing policies and local regulations on alcohol advertising.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work with brand marketing, trade marketing, and communications teams to align digital activity with the integrated media & marketing agenda.
  • Represent the digital perspective in internal strategy and media planning discussions.
  • Represent the Romania and Bulgaria markets in HEINEKEN regional and global digital forums.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing, with a significant component of agency management or client-side coordination.
  • Prior experience in an FMCG environment or coordinating digital campaigns for consumer brands is a clear advantage.
  • Degree-level education in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a relevant field.
  • Proven track record in briefing, evaluating, and managing digital/media agencies.

Key Competencies

  • Solid understanding of the digital ecosystem (paid media, social, programmatic) at a strategic level — hands-on execution expertise is not required.
  • Ability to critically assess agency recommendations and provide high-quality, data-informed feedback grounded in business objectives.
  • Excellent briefing and communication skills — able to translate complex business goals into clear, actionable directions for the agency.
  • Fluency in reading and interpreting digital performance reports and using data to support decision-making.
  • Experience managing budgets and tracking the efficiency of media investments.

Soft Skills & Leadership

  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and strong prioritization skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, both with agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-driven, with a desire to raise the quality bar of digital activity.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
