Functional & Technical Application Manager (CIL-BW)

The Management Information Office (MIO) provides, manages and maintains reliable HEINEKEN Global business reporting tools and related processes that fulfil business information needs, at competitive costs and within the HEINEKEN control framework. The MIO team (approx. 15 FTE) consists of Business Consultants and Functional & Technical Managers located in Amsterdam, Krakow and India making this a truly global virtual team!

The Functional & Technical Manager delivers expertise to design, customize, implement and maintain SAP BW. He or she provides technical and functional support to HEINEKEN Global Functions, Regions, and Operating Companies (OpCo) in line with the Finance and IT strategy. In addition, the Functional & Technical administrator maintains integrity of the SAP BW data model and reporting framework keeping the interest of the business in mind.


You are a good match if you have:

  • Minimum 5 year experience in a business intelligence related position with a Finance department / organization
  • Extensive experience with SAP-BW and/or SAP-BW/4HANA. Experience on SAP SEM-BCS and SAP HANA are considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in building reports using Query designer, and workbooks with BEx Analyzer and Analysis for Office.
  • Practical knowledge of SAP IP (Integrated Planning) and ABAP programming language.
  • Functional knowledge about financial reporting set up like Income Statement, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet.

  • Knowledge of additional reporting tools like Power BI
  • The ability to independently engage in complex functional/technical issues and resolve them in an international environment.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and across various parties both internal and external.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects under stringent deadlines.


Your daily tasks may include:

  • User Support - Ensuring user support, training and documentation regarding the daily use of SAP BW application, registering and answering user questions regarding the use of the consolidation application.
  • Service & Maintenance - Contribution to the handover of the IT product, coordination and/ or executing service and maintenance process with Global Functions, Regions, Operating Companies and Global Information Services (GIS)
  • Advisory – signaling and judging appropriateness of new IT developments, systems, applications and processes and advise the business on potential improvement opportunities and the (dis-) advantages of implementation of the new/renewed applications.
  • Projects - Participation in (or leading) projects taking into account the project plan and in accordance with the business requirements.
  • Change Management - Identifying needs of business users regarding to SAP BW application and translating this into functional and technical design and new or revised functionalities to relevant stakeholders. Leading and reviewing development done by off-shore team and/or develop by yourself if necessary.
