Position Vacant: Safety, Health & Environment Coordinator

We have an immediate requirement for a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Coordinator based in Port Moresby.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing specialist SHE resources and capabilities to plan, implement, monitor, and review SP Brewery’s SHE Management System and strategic risk management projects aimed at improving SHE performance.
Key duties include:
- Work in alignment with HEINEKEN Safety, Food Safety, Sustainability standards, and all relevant local regulations, while leading and applying the Brewery’s Safety agenda in line with Safety Management System requirements.
- Support Brewery Leadership Team activities by participating in key pillars such as 6S audits, HACCP monitoring, CIP compliance, and other operational confirmation processes to strengthen overall safety performance.
- Conduct annual emergency mock drills with Quality, provide timely feedback and escalate quality or non‑standard issues, and support Brewery Leadership Team pillar activities to improve Quality KPIs on time.
- Support TPM ways of working by driving Safety Representative duties, coaching the Brewery on the ORR Team Route, managing safety tag governance, and leading Safety Pillar implementation if activated.
- Maintain and continually improve the SHE Management System to meet HEINEKEN Global standards and PNG legal requirements, ensuring clear local procedures and workforce compliance.
- Lead incident investigations, provide expert SHE advice, support Safety Committees and contractors, and drive strategic SHE projects and audit programs to address system gaps and improve performance.
- Manage SHE data, reporting, and KPI deployment by collecting and analyzing safety performance information, ensuring accurate monthly reporting, and maintaining compliance tools and documentation.
- Plan and deliver safety training aligned with HEINEKEN requirements and local risk needs, coordinate team actions to address safety non‑conformances, and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to ensure workforce compliance with SPB safety procedures and standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- University Degree in Science/Engineering with Safety background.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SHE responsibilities in FMCG or mining/petroleum operations.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Committed to achieving set tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Positive attitude and commitment.
