Tax Manager

We’re looking for a skilled Tax Manager to join our Finance team to oversee day-to-day tax operations for DB Group. From income tax returns and indirect tax reviews to strategic advice and stakeholder engagement, this role is pivotal in keeping our tax affairs running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Excise Duty - Own the excise tax processes and lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring business processes comply with excise and other legislative requirements.
- Income Tax - Complete annual income tax returns, coordinate with advisors on provisional tax, and monitor imputation credit accounts.
- Indirect tax - Facilitate the preparation and lodgement of other indirect tax returns including GST, FBT, NRWT, etc.
- Support Research and Development tax credit claims by completing prelim work on projects that meet the criteria.
- Lodgement of Wine Equalisation tax credits.
- Collaborate on transfer pricing documentation and ensure international tax compliance.
- Complete all tax accounting journals, tax balance sheet reconciliations, and internal control processes.
- Interpret complex tax legislation and provide clear, actionable guidance to business stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities (IRD, Customs NZ) to ensure compliance and minimize audit risk.
- Support the implementation of local and global tax projects and policies.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting (BCom or BBS preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting and tax, ideally in large, complex organizations.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Must have work rights in NZ
