Senior Business Controller - Commerce

As the Senior Business Controller - Commerce at DB Breweries, you will provide financial analysis and support to the Sales Team (Grocery and On Premise), ensuring sound decision-making in revenue and gross profit. You’ll manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, collaborate with key stakeholders, and drive margin optimisation. Additionally, you'll oversee process improvements, upskill teams on financial data, and handle month-end close activities and financial evaluations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide financial insights and performance tracking for the Sales Team, focusing on volume, financials, and margin measurement.
- Oversee OTIFNE reporting, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
- Finalise financial estimates and forecasts using the Anaplan tool, aligning with business partners and stakeholders.
- Analyse pricing, customer discounts, and promotions to optimise profitability and support decision-making.
- Provide training and support to the Sales Team on commerce data and financial processes.
- Contribute to process improvements, reviewing and simplifying financial operations.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, gross profit analysis, and accruals as part of month-end close.
Your background and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Commercial Accounting or Management Accounting (Chartered Accountant preferred).
- 3–5 years, including management experience.
- FMCG financial experience preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in a commercial business environment.
- High level of analytical ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Must have valid New Zealand work rights.
