Sales Capability & Executional Excellence Manager

As DB’s Sales Capability & Executional Excellence Manager, you will be the driving force behind our Sales Execution agenda, ensuring our field sales teams have the right targets, priorities, and tools to deliver outstanding results. In this position, you'll lead the charge on how we serve our customers and work alongside our wider commercial team to turn our strategy into world-class execution. You'll be responsible for important performance measures and will help turn plans into actions, making sure our sales teams are always improving. Your leadership will shape how we execute and make a significant impact on our sales success!

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Build capability in the field (at least 40% of the time) through regular coaching, audits, and ensuring commercial tools effectively support targets and commercial ambitions.
  • Own sales key performance metrics, defining execution standards, measuring performance, and driving continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Use customer insights to develop action plans that improve NPS, enhance sales processes, and make DB easier to do business with.
  • Work with the Sales Acceleration Manager to set clear priorities, align activities, and ensure seamless execution of the Sales Cycle plan.
  • Deliver tailored training programs using HEINEKEN Global Sales Academy tools, upskilling Field Sales teams and assessing capability effectiveness annually.
  • Manage the Excellence on Execution (EOE) audit, execution reviews, SOP, and compliance to ensure strategic alignment and performance optimisation.

 

Your background and experience:

 

  • Experience and passion for coaching and development
  • Tertiary qualification with 7+ years’ experience in FMCG, including 3+ years in Sales (preferably Field Sales, Key Account or Category Management), and experience with Sales Automation or CRM tools.
  • Strong commercial acumen, excellent communication, planning, and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of the NZ retail market and multi-channel sales experience (Liquor, On Premise, Grocery).
  • Proven ability to optimise and maintain systems and processes, with a focus on stakeholder management and driving continuous improvements.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (30-40% of your time will be spent in trade) to support field activities and business objectives.
  • Must have NZ work rights
