People Advisor - Generalist
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Type of Contract: Full-Time Permanent Contract
As DB’s People Advisor - Generalist, you’ll be responsible for providing support, guidance, and advice to our people leaders. Working closely with the Business Partnering team, the role manages various HR processes and initiatives, ensuring compliance with Policy, relevant law, and regulation. The People Advisor is also responsible for reviewing and implementing ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and activity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee and people leader enquiries, providing guidance on HR matters such as performance management, policy interpretation, and employee relations.
- Support the Senior Business Partner – Supply Chain with collective bargaining, ensuring understanding and application of IEA and CEA clauses, and contribute to the development and implementation of compliant HR policies.
- Maintain accurate people records, analyse HR metrics to identify trends, and support initiatives that enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Prepare and process employee-related documentation such as independent contractor agreements, variation letters, performance improvement documents etc.
- Support the Senior People Partners by effectively and efficiently co-ordinating activities, including meetings, process administration and analysis of people related data.
- Stay updated on NZ employment legislation and best practices, offering proactive advice and solutions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- In addition, when workload allows you will have the opportunity to get involved in the delivery of the WholeMe wellbeing programme, health and safety reporting and initiatives as well as supporting our People Operations team to deliver our cyclical performance and talent processes.
What you will bring with you:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- At least 3+ years' proven experience in a people advisory role
- Good knowledge of NZ employment legislation and practices
- Tech-savvy with exceptional relationship management and influencing skills
- Excellent time management, organisational skills, and a proactive, resourceful mindset
- Must have full-time work rights in NZ
