The Packaging Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the effective coordination of all on-site Mechanical Maintenance resources for the provision of routine and non-routine Engineering, maintenance, repairs, continuous improvement and project services to Waitemata Brewery. Ultimately ensuring that product is manufactured efficiently, cost effectively and to meet strict safety protocol and quality specifications.


The role also involves the following:

  • Execution of routine mechanical engineering and maintenance activities
  • Completing planned shutdown (routine / non routine), engineering / maintenance PM and project activities within agreed timeframes
  • Providing input into the DB Waitemata Engineering and Operations planning processes on a weekly / monthly / yearly basis
  • Compliance management for R&M spend to budget through robust decision making and maintaining transparency around reporting and cost control measures
  • Participation in TPM Plant Maintenance Pillar and drive TPM / continuous improvement activities with the team to attack brewery losses
  • Effective selection and management of mechanical engineering contractors as required
  • Management of the engineering SAP process to deliver accuracy in mechanical maintenance activity and reporting


You will lead by example when it comes to Health and Safety and continuously champion a safety first and zero harm culture.


You will hold an advanced trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Degree or similar and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a FMCG environment. Experience working with TPM or other continuous improvement methodology essential. Experience working with SAP preferred.
