Manufacturing Learning and Development Specialist

Location: Ōtāhuhu, Auckland

Function: Supply Chain

Type of Contract: Full time Permanent

 

As DB's Manufacturing Learning & Development Specialist, you will collaborate with the People (HR) function to enhance workforce capability through training programmes, competency development, and strategic workforce planning within Supply Chain. You will design and deliver training initiatives aligned with business priorities while ensuring the effective application of HEINEKEN Global Standards. Your role includes developing and embedding functional competencies across key job groupings, managing the Supply Chain learning agreement process, and strengthening shop floor training. Additionally, you will lead the creation and standardisation of SOPs, mentor trainers and assessors, and support health and safety initiatives to build a high-performing, compliant, and future-ready workforce.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP): Support stakeholders in implementing future organisational structures using global processes and tools.
  • Training Needs Analysis & Programme Delivery: Conduct training needs analysis, develop and deliver a yearly training calendar aligned with Supply Chain priorities.
  • Functional Competency Development: Implement and embed Supply Chain Functional Competencies, ensuring capability growth across key job groupings.
  • Shop Floor Training & Coaching: Deliver on-site training, mentoring, and coaching to create effective trainers and enhance skills application.
  • SOP Development & Implementation: Ensure SOPs are in place, standardised, and effectively trained for all operator roles.
  • Learning & Development Management: Oversee learning agreements, training budgets, and competency assessments to drive continuous improvement.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Promote and support DB’s Health & Safety policies, ensuring reporting and adherence to safety standards.

 

Your background and experience:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with a focus on training facilitation, needs analysis, and training design.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, ideally FMCG, and knowledge of apprenticeship programmes and the NZ qualification system.
  • Proven expertise in technical SOP writing, training project management, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A change agile mindset with a passion for driving results through people development.
  • Flexibility to work across DB sites and engage with teams to deliver tailored learning solutions.
