Consumer & Market Insights (CMI) Manager

Location: Auckland
Function: Commerce
Sub-Function: Commerce - Marketing - Consumer and Market Intelligence
Type of Contract: Permanent

  • Generate insights and recommendations that shape our marketing strategies, investments, planning and innovation.
  • Lots of opportunity to add value as part of a welcoming and fun local and global team.
  • Based at our brewery in Otahuhu with free parking and some great employee benefits.

When you join DB Breweries, you become part of the global HEINEKEN whanau, where ‘enjoyment of life’ is a core value and we encourage our diverse team to contribute ideas that support not only our growth but theirs as well.  We have a strong culture of career advancement from within, providing opportunities for our people to grow and develop themselves locally or internationally, which is precisely what’s transpired to create this vacancy…

We’ve recently made a few changes within our Marketing team which aim to set us up to achieve our growth ambitions.  As a result, our existing CMI Manager, Dave, has been promoted to become our new Senior CMI & Innovation Manager, and he’s now on the look-out for someone to replace him.

With the support of one of New Zealand’s most awarded Marketing teams, and subject matter experts across the wider Commercial, Finance and Supply teams, the Consumer & Market Insights Manager is a vital contributor within DB requiring you to provide strategic information and recommendations that shape decisions for our portfolio, brand, investment and innovation strategies.  In parallel, you’ll measure brand health and market performance, marketing effectiveness and optimise our ROI with a strong focus on consumer-inspired and brand-led decision making.  This is a role that’ll showcase your commercial acumen, analysis and insights capability, while giving you lots of scope to identify gaps and help shape the future of beer and beyond.

Our ideal person would come to this role with the analytical and commercial capability we’ve just mentioned, along with proven relationship management, communication and influencing skills, as this is as much about selling recommendations as it is about research and discovery.  You’ll ideally have experience working with research, consumer and shopper data within the FMCG/liquor sector and a strong view on the bigger picture is a must.  The breadth of this role will mean managing and contributing to numerous projects that often make competing demands on your time… this isn’t one thing at a time, it’s everything all at once and that’s what makes it fun!

But, in return for your commitment and contribution, and in addition to your salary and bonus, we offer you an awesome work culture and some great employee benefits:

  • Flexible start/finish times and the option to work from home up to two days each week.
  • Health, life and income protection insurances.
  • 5% Kiwisaver employer contribution.
  • Monthly product allowance (yep, free beer, RTDs or cider!)
  • Free car parking.
  • Lots of opportunities for high performers to advance their sales careers.
  • A supportive, welcoming high performing team environment.
  • Free access to some great wellbeing programmes and tools.
  • ‘Enjoyment of Life’ leave (an extra day’s leave each year to do whatever brings you joy).
  • Professional development and training including exceptional leadership development.
  • Diverse projects and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary co-workers.

We’re an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive workplace as we know that diverse views make great brews!  Our company purpose is to brew the joy of true togetherness to inspire a better world by bringing to life our four values:

  • Passion for consumers and customers
  • Care for people and planet
  • Enjoyment of life
  • Courage to dream and pioneer

Sound like the place for you?  Apply now… we look forward to meeting you.
