Commercial Business Controller

As part of the Finance department, you will be the Business Partner for Almaza’s Commercial team. You are responsible for their P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. You are the key person challenging the business function to find areas of improvement to ensure effective, financially-driven decision making, solid financial forecasting and robust financial controls.

In order to develop the role to get to this stage, your improvement mindset will help you optimize the reporting and planning.

 

What will be your responsibilities

  • Maximise business performance by working closely alongside the Commercial team, challenging and influencing them.
  • Proactively work with the Commercial Team to identify, analyse and exploit business opportunities (e.g. new product introductions, cost saving opportunities), intervene on fundamental issues, and provide financial leadership on strategic projects.
  • Drive commercial cash flow and management of due payments.
  • Support the business planning cycle of Commerce within Almaza for the 3-year Strategic Action Plan, the Annual Operational Plan and Latest Estimates including providing relevant challenge to the Commercial Management Team.
  • Monitor actual cost development vs. Budget/LE and provide early warnings on deviations. Present results to the Commercial team.
  • Monitor and develop insights on the quantitative and qualitative (financial and non-financial) performance of the Commercial function, and communicate this insight through the preparation and delivery of streamlined reporting.
  • Establish and implement policies and processes within the Commercial Function to ensure the integrity of accounting records and financial information.

Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent (CMA certificate is a plus)
  • You have 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in Finance
  • You are fluent in English (both spoken and written)
  • You have advanced computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint)
