The Lagunitas Brewing Company began on a kitchen stove in Northern California in 1993 and has always looked to the future – whether supporting local communities by turning beer into money for the cause, or fueling stories, songs, and experiences with our IPA. About the Role 

The Taproom experience serves as an extension of our connection with consumers. We view these experiences as special, unique, and a critical part of how consumers interact with our brand. We wish for them to leave with stories of their own to share with others, and that comes from having a beer, participating in a non-profit event, attending a live band performance, or simply celebrating and enjoying our vibe with friends and family. Through thorough knowledge of the Lagunitas menu, beers and stories, this position creates a positive, friendly guest experience by providing exceptional service and hospitality.   



What You’ll Do 

  • Welcomes guests in an enthusiastic and friendly manner. 

  • Checks identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol. 

  • Pours and serves alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with Lagunitas policies and procedures, following all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. 

  • Takes food and beverage orders, providing recommendations upon inquiry. 

  • Maintains constant interaction with guests to ensure satisfaction with food, drinks and service. 

  • Assists guests with retail purchases; processes payments for merchandise such as shirts, hats, etc. 

  • Utilizes pub POS system to process guests’ payment transactions; Follows cash handling procedures, accountable for all daily transactions. 

  • Responsible for continuous sanitation, organization, and proper food handling. 

  • Assists with restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies. 

  • Ensures proper set-up in all areas of the pub; Replenishes food and beverage supplies as needed. 

  • Clears dishes from tables and other areas to ensure a high standard of table cleanliness. 

  • Prepares dishes for washing by scraping and stacking them according to proper standards. 

  • Provides cleaning duties as needed for spilled food or drink. 

  • Empties trash from the designated areas throughout shift; Cleans and stocks restrooms as needed. 

  • Responds to guest complaints in a professional manner, escalating issues to management or security as needed. 

  • Maintains thorough, up-to-date knowledge of our beer styles and food menu. 

  • Other duties and projects as directed by Manager. 


What We’re Lookin’ For 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 

  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a high volume restaurant or pub  required; experience pouring & serving beer strongly preferred. 

  • Thrives in fast-paced environment; willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime. 

  • Demonstrates integrity and mature judgment in handling all matters. 

  • Excellent organization and problem solving skills; works well under pressure. 

  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude and strong verbal communication skills; strong team work ethic. 

  • Basic math skills to handle cash, give change and balance cash drawer accurately at the end of shift. 

  • Willing to obtain Lead Certificate, Food Handler Certificate, Beer Server Cicerone Training and any other applicable certificates upon hire. 

  • Passion for Lagunitas and the beer business; General knowledge of craft beer is desired.
