About the role

The Taproom Lead is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Taproom including directing staff, problem-solving, customer service, administrative tasks, security, sanitation and safety.  The Taproom Lead supports the Manager as a leader in the Taproom.

 

What you'll do

  • Regularly works all aspects of the Taproom operation, including opening and closing activities and cashiering.
  • Maintains professional and customer-focused demeanor in all staff and customer communications.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Taproom offerings, products, services and retail information.
  • Serves alcoholic beverages in an appropriate manner consistent with Lagunitas policies & procedures, following all applicable local, state, and federal regulations; Exemplifies and upholds all current policies & procedures.
  • Takes food and beer orders, providing recommendations upon inquiry; Utilizes POS system to process orders and payments.
  • Serves as point-of-contact for staff issues and guest complaints; acknowledges & investigates issues and communicates to Management;
  • Reviews customer service challenges/issues with staff each week; works with management to develop plans for improvement.
  • Assists with training staff to assure staff is knowledgeable on products, quality control, service, time management, proper aesthetics (menus and signage), sanitation and safety.          
  • Assists in the preparation of weekly staff schedule as needed.
  • Oversees cleaning and maintenance of the Taproom to assure it meets cleanliness standards; regularly communicates with staff to promote compliance with all health and sanitation laws.
  • Maintains compliance with cash control procedures for the Taproom; Oversees bank close-outs as needed. 
  • Ensures overall appearance of displays and Taproom environment are kept at the highest level.
  • Holds daily Shift Meetings to keep staff informed of critical information.
  • In addition to the duties described above, this role may be required to perform the duties of, or scheduled to work shifts acting as a busser, server, bartender, prep cook, line cook, or other taproom position including that of a host/greeter (ex: answering phones, welcoming guests, assigning tables, completing side work, and a variety of cleaning tasks to be determined, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, exemplified by daily communication of critical issues, guest feedback or concerns, product issues, staffing, etc. to General Manager and Director of Retail Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

 

What we’re lookin’ for

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior bartending/serving experience in high volume pub or restaurant.
  • Leadership experience within the bar/restaurant industry preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
