About the Role 

The Recruiter takes initiative to manage and drive new ideas and programs for attracting talent, engaging with prospective candidates, and connecting new hires with our culture. This Lagunitas ambassador demonstrates a proactive & strategic approach to growing our tribe and thinks creatively and holistically to support overall Lagunitas growth, health, resilience and strength.


What You'll Do

  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; maintaining rapport.
  • Manages temporary staffing operations through coordination with agencies and internal departments; Identifies opportunities to improve staffing logistics and eliminate costs. Assists Manager with vendor selection, contract negotiations and relationship-building with agencies.
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.
  • Sources passive candidates through LinkedIn and other resources; builds a strong network of positive relationships.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, contacting agencies, using social media, and job boards.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by pre-screening and interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules, travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging tours.
  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.
  • Coordinates new employee relocations through partnership with the HR Operations team.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; coaching hiring managers.
  • Pursues continuous education through maintaining current knowledge of all hiring practices and trends.
  • Supports Human Resources with heavy administrative duties and recordkeeping, including updating ATS (applicants tracking system), spreadsheets and monitoring recruitment sources for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Fields applicant inquires.
  • Protects Lagunitas values through maintaining confidentiality and ensuring private information is stored properly and securely.
  • Exercises independent judgment and advises on decisions on behalf of the company to negotiate compensation packages and close candidates throughout the interview and offer process.
  • Maintain contact with possible future candidates.
  • Attend career fairs for recruiting and company recognition.
  • Maintain all pertinent and applicant data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).


What We're Lookin' For

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources, Organizational Development or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years’ high volume recruitment experience.
  • Thorough understanding of FLSA employee status requirements and EEO practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources and recruitment practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Advance training in behavioral interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to travel for recruitment meetings, college visits and career fairs and maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong conflict management, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills.


Key Relationships

  • Reports to Talent Acquisition Manager.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is primarily indoors.
  • Travel may be required <10% of the time.
