Position Summary

The Lagunitas Brewing Company’s Customer Service, Logistics, & Planning (CSLP) Team is seeking a dynamic Logistics Manager to take charge of strategic support for business growth through exceptional supply chain activities and operations execution. You will be driving Lagunitas operations measures related to the daily activities of Lagunitas Logistics. This includes managing over 5,000 truckloads to our distributors annually. The role entails end-to-end coordination and supply chain performance, including vendor (3PL/4PL) performance. Working in conjunction with vendors, you will ensure that their service levels align with the contractual agreement outlined in the supplier contract (SLA). Collaborating closely with diverse business and functional heads, this individual provides strategic guidance by establishing comprehensive reporting, analyzing metrics, and gathering data from multiple systems. They are adept at managing project timelines with a sense of urgency and ensuring that all commitments are met, while also communicating timely status updates to senior management.

 

What You will Do

  1. Daily Control System/Execution:
    • Facilitate the implementation of the Warehouse and Logistics strategy by assuming accountability for Logistics Supply Chain execution and performance. Be initiative-taking in identifying and remedying day-to-day concerns, conduct comprehensive root cause failure analyses (RCFA), and utilize innovative problem-solving approaches.
  2. Vendor Management:
    • The tactical-level ownership of vendor relationships, encompassing accountability for vendor performance to KPIs, requires the establishment of KPIs, metrics, and control systems to effectively manage performance to objectives. The development and maintenance of carrier and scorecards is essential for identifying areas of improvement in carrier performance.
  3. Business Relationships:
    • Engage with business stakeholders to identify and address pressing matters that affect the business. Serve as a liaison between finance, sales, CSLP, and the warehouse by sharing relevant real-time information for optimal operations. Function as the primary point of contact between our LSP and distributor network for timely deliveries. Facilitate resolution of any scheduling challenges on behalf of our LSP. Conduct regular meetings with key distributors to improve service, address outstanding issues, and ensure swift resolutions.
  4. Project Management:
    • As a subject-matter expert (SME), take charge of logistics projects and offer support to other functional projects.
  5. Reporting and Analytics:
    • To facilitate effective control processes, it is imperative to create reporting dashboards which will aid in the daily, weekly and monthly reporting of KPIs. In addition, it is important to develop and maintain an organized system of shipments that incorporates root cause analysis of any service failures. An in-depth examination of accessorial fees charged by both carriers and distributors is also necessary to provide insightful reporting and analysis for LSP performance.

 

What We are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or another relevant field.
  • 7+ year’s Logistics Experience preferably within Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and Alcohol Beverage Industry.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Excel, and other relevant Supply Chain / Logistics Tools.
  • Cheerful outlook and excellent verbal communication skills; Positive, upbeat, and friendly demeanor.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Enhancing both internal and external understanding of performance and strategy requires the ability to report and communicate effectively. Additionally, being proactive in seeking solutions is essential.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.
  • Enthusiastic about Lagunitas and the craft beer business.

 

Key Relationships

  • Reports to Senior Logistics and Transportation Manager; Works closely with Customer Service & Warehousing Teams.
  • Interfaces with distributors at the Purchasing Manager level.
  • Direct communications with all respective LSP personnel.
