INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for assuring the timely and accurate reporting of inventories and reconciliation of the differences between the physical count and our inventory program. 

 

 

What you'll do:

  • Adhere to all safety standards set by Lagunitas and OSHA.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, audits, and good catch program.
  • Cycle counts of Brewing, Packing, and Finished Goods.
  • Provides finance monthly reconciled counts.
  • Conducting weekly empty keg counts.
  • Ensures accuracy of physical inventory by investigating and reconciling any discrepancies of stock count with system-generated reports.
  • Works directly with the Distribution Manager and Warehouse Leads with regard to space management and organization. This includes auditing FIFO, rotating packaging materials, and consolidating aisles to make room for additional SKUs.
  • Investigate discrepancies between counts and X3/Doghouse/Receipts/WO tracking.
  • Manage all inventory holds, aging, and library beer.
  • Conduct auditing of inbound/outbound paperwork for accuracy.
  • Participate in Bill of Material (BOM) & Work Order (WO) set up, maintenance and review.
  • Develop and maintain SOP’s on counting procedures and best practices.
  • Generates monthly reports to identify potential excess and obsolete inventory items.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What we're lookin':

  • Experience in operating forklifts and hand lifts to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Previous experience in inventory control methods, planning and technologies within a warehouse/distribution environment is desired.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Performs duties with an emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Able to work in a manner consistent with plant safety and product quality.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) with accuracy in data entry skillset.
  • Knowledge of Lagunitas product and/or the craft beer industry is desired.
  • Excellent Customer Service and communication (both verbal and written) competency required.

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to the Distribution Manager.
  • Frequently interfaces with Cost Accountant/Procurement Team.
  • Frequently interacts with packaging, brewing, distribution, and finance departments.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification within 15 days from date of hire
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend repeatedly throughout shift
  • Tolerate outside summer/winter temperature and inclement weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, overtime as necessary, & holidays and weekends.
