The Gist 

The Brewery Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance to production equipment with focus on keeping our new, state of the art brewing and packaging facility at peak operational performance and efficiency, always considering safety and quality as top priorities.  

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Installs and maintains pumps, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, bushings, sprockets, sheaves, belts, and general mechanical equipment. Performs equipment lubrication.  

  • Able to perform precision alignment of pumps, motors, gearboxes, sprockets, and sheaves.  

  • Installs and maintains electric motors, control cabinets, motor starters, drives, wiring, sensors, switches, and General Electric/electronic devices.  

  • Troubleshoots and maintains pneumatic and hydraulic systems.  

  • Disassembles and reassembles machinery. Rebuilds gearboxes and pumps. Replaces pump seals.  

  • Uses Computerized Maintenance Management System to check work order assignment and report completed work.  

  • Generates parts requisitions using parts inventory control system.  

  • Completes preventive maintenance routines as assigned.  

  • Participates in all continuous improvement initiatives.  

  • Identifies root cause of problems. Proposes and implements solutions.  

  • Actively contributes to the achievement of Company goals and KPI’s.  

  • Keeps work area clean and organized.  

  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

What We’re Lookin’ For 

  • High school Diploma, Associate Degree preferred.  

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical experience in the food or beverage industry. Brewing or high-speed carbonated beverage packaging experience strongly preferred.  

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic systems, air compressors, hydraulic systems, mechanical power, pumps, gearboxes, valves, heat exchangers, and mechanical components.  

  • Ability to complete basic electrical maintenance.  

  • Welding experience preferred (MIG, TIG, Arc and Sanitary along with Torch and Plasma).  

  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.  

  • Ability to use precision measuring and alignment tools.  

  • Understanding of shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, bend, break, shear, and press)  

  • Experience completing preventive maintenance activities.  

  • Results driven, proactive, able to work effectively individually and within a team.  

  • Able to work with minimum supervision.  

  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate issues, opportunities, and risk.  

  • Strong analytical competency.  

 

Key Relationships 

  • Reports to Maintenance & Engineering Manager.  

  • Frequently interacts with the Quality, Brewing and Packaging departments.  

 

Physical Stuff 

  • Must be able to lift and carry 60 pounds on a regular basis.  

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for majority of work schedule.  

  • Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions in Production Environment.  

  • Ability to use computer and calculator.
