Accounting Analyst

About the Role  

 

As a key partner in financial operations, this role facilitates Lagunitas’ accounting record-to-report (RtR) process. This analytical-thinker partners with reporting leadership to promote effective decision-making through a strong understanding of applied accounting processes. 

 

What You’ll Do  

 

  • Implements operational standards and processes to protect the integrity of accounting records and financial information. 

  • Manages a documented system of accounting policies & procedures. 

  • Manages and delivers transactional accounting and management reporting including Fixed asset register, Pubs and Store business and Intercompany reconciliation process 

  • Detects and capitalizes on opportunities to mitigate risks through a proactive focus on data and trends. 

  • Plans and coordinates each monthly accounting close, as well as the elaboration and reporting of accounting information both internally and externally. 

  • Supports the innovation of our financial systems to mitigate risk and drive efficiency across the business. 

  • Other duties and projects as assigned including opportunities in other finance departments. 

 

What We’re Lookin’ For   

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.  

  • Knowledge of GAAP / IFRS required 

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience within accounting. 

  • Strong organization and communication skills to discern and address the needs of the business, Finance, and company leadership. 

  • Proven experience challenging inefficiencies and leading process change despite practical constraints. 

  • Demonstrated success applying data and analytics to develop insights and influence progress. 

  • Ability to report and communicate effectively in order to enhance internal and external understanding of business performance and strategy. 

  • Strong technical experience with advanced software skills including information systems (SAP HCSC, Power BI, CIL, PlanOn preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Highly results-oriented with ability to demonstrate impeccable integrity and honesty. 

  • Demonstrated leadership capacity motivating and unifying teams. 

  • Ability to manage competing priorities within a dynamic environment. 

  • A constant learner, flexibility to flourish in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment. 

  • Passion for Lagunitas and the craft beer business. 

 

Key Relationships 

 

  • Reports to the Sr. Reporting Manager. 

  • Frequent interaction with the Finance Leadership team. 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Ability to travel occasionally (<10% travel to Chicago site as needed). 

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, reach, twist and turn. 

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. 

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
