Staff Accountant

Title: Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Staff Accountant position will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks including financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis, billing processing, auditing financial documents, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Additionally, they will support inventory audits and procurement tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

DUTIES

  • Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements for accuracy, compliance, and legal requirements, including tax return preparation and filing.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing accruals, and maintaining operational management accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation, conduct general ledger account reconciliations, verify data accuracy, correct errors, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies throughout these tasks.
  • Prepare financial reports, conduct in-depth analysis, and summarize account information to provide comprehensive insights, facilitating informed decision-making by senior management.
  • Monitor and assess policies and procedures within designated departments, proactively identifying areas for improvement in accounting reports and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Maintain and update financial records while also identifying opportunities to minimize costs and maximize revenue streams.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including reviewing invoices, obtaining approvals, processing payments, generating invoices, recording revenue.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements, process purchase orders, review requisitions, and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Support financial and inventory audit activities by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed.
  • Participate in various ad hoc requests, projects, and initiatives as assigned by management.

  • Reports to Senior FP&A Business Manager
  • Interact with Local Management and Leadership team.
  • Liaison with other Heineken operating companies.

  • Qualification
    • At least 2-4 years’ experience in accounting
    • 4-year college degree, bachelors, or equivalent combination education and experience in accounting required.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License or equivalent, preferred.
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in SAP accounting software.
    • Advanced Excel skills, familiarity with Power Query is preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Strong understanding of US tax regulation
    • Ability to read and analyze financial reports.

    • Possible travel: 15%
