Safety & Environment Coordinator


Support the implementation of the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) pillar, local occupational health & safety standards, global safety standards, guidelines and local procedures and build a solid and functional relationship with management and all departments in order to:

  1. Provide a safe and secure working and living environment for all staff, contractors, suppliers and visitors, and as the occasion arises, their guests and customers
  2. Continuously improve the safety culture in an effort to achieving zero (0) accidents for all Red Stripe operations. This includes projects related to the brewery and supporting the standardization of safety rules and procedures.



Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Health Management,

Engineering or related field.

Certified Safety Professional or other Safety qualification OR a

Hhistory of Safety related experience is required as a minimum.

Applicable safety, environmental and/or risk management courses.

2-5 years relevant experience

Experience or thorough understanding in all safety processes

Knowledge of and demonstrable experience with regard to behavioral based safety, LOT & Machine Safety, Safety in construction include excavation, risk assessments/surveys, working at height and change management.

Project management experience



Support the implementation of rules, regulations and instructions on work safety and reduce the risk of work accidents in accordance with local legislation and company rules and procedures.

Review and update such policies, programs and procedures that would protect Red Stripe personnel and assets from loss or harm as a result of poor safety behaviour and non-compliance with the companys and HEINEKEN standards and procedures.

Support the execution of the SHE Pillar plan action plan including the ongoing review of the High Level Risk Assessment, Safety Plan, Behaviour Based Safety and Operational Risk Reduction.

To perform safety audits, investigations and training in accordance with HEINEKEN standards and local legislation.


To update and provide training and training material as needed for safety programmes within HEINEKEN standards.

Ensure the business is compliant with all safety and environmental  regulations.

Conduct or organize the completion of environmental risk assessments and develop action plan with clear timelines and budget where applicable.

Lead the compliance agenda for the environmental regulatory standards  and  requirements



Define an operational safety plan and budget in accordance with the priorities of the High Level Risk Assessment and the End-to- End roadmap.

Management of the Environmental Management System (EMS)

ISO 14001, with continuous focus on priorities, waste management and recycling.

Ensure alignment of local plan between global, regional and

OpCo safety priorities and regulatory standards.



Provide operational safety direction and risk advice to teams and departments and during specific projects.

Provide general and ad-hoc analysis to support decision-makingin line with rules, policies and procedures.



Drive Safety Toolbox sessions across all functions and implement the appropriate follow-up mechanism to ensure relevant topics are explored and embedded.

Complete environmental auditing on the shop floor, identifying risk and opportunities and action plan to mitigate

Works closely with all departments to build employee awareness and engagement around safety standards and expectations.

Supports change management process and development of change management capabilities where new ways of working have safety considerations.



Audit job sites to ensure assigned work is being done safely

Design and execute an engagement plan that drive high awareness and compliance with safety standards by all third party contractors.
