Job Purpose:

The Occupational Health Nurse will own and lead the delivery of occupational health and wellbeing programmes, ensuring a safe, resilient, and high-performing workforce. This is an ownership role that combines clinical expertise with influence and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will administer health related services, drive proactive programmes that prevent injuries and illnesses, embeds wellbeing into company culture, and deliver measurable improvements in employee health and business performance. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Health Management: Advise leadership on workforce health trends, risks, and opportunities, shaping policies that integrate wellbeing into business performance.
  • Prevention and Risk Reduction - Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of occupational health programmes (e.g., hearing conservation, respiratory protection, ergonomics).
  • Case Management and Return to Work - Own case management and return-to-work processes, ensuring rapid recovery and reintegration.
  • Workplace Assessment - Proactively identify health risks through assessments, audits, risk evaluations, data analysis and implementing preventative measures.
  • Wellbeing Initiatives - Deliver health and wellbeing initiatives that address physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.
  • Employee Support - Provide care for ill/injured employees, counselling, guidance, and crisis intervention, fostering a supportive environment that enhances morale and retention.
  • Emergency Preparedness - Lead emergency preparedness and First Aid programmes, ensuring readiness across the workforce.
  • Data and Insights - Measure, analyze and report on key occupational health and wellbeing data, trends and KPIs (e.g., lost-time injury frequency, wellbeing engagement scores) to demonstrate impact, anticipate, prevent and/or improve outcomes.
  • Training and Awareness - Champion a culture of safety, health and wellbeing through training, awareness, and meaningful interventions that build a culture of shared responsibility.
  • Data Protection - Maintain accurate employee health records and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company standards.
    Qualifications


Qualifications

  • BSc in Nursing or Certificate in General Nursing
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN)  
  • Certified in First Aid, BLS and ACLS
  • Formal training and experience in Occupational Health


Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health practices, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience in health surveillance (e.g., audiometry, spirometry) and case management.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive cross-functional collaboration with excellent communication skills
  • Skilled in data analysis, problem solving and decision making
