    Founded in Amsterdam in 1864, when Gerard Adriaan Heineken bought the De Hooiberg brewery, the HEINEKEN  Group has a long and proud history spanning over 150 years.
    HEINEKEN is now the brewery group with the strongest global presence, with 80.000 employees and 165 production sites in more than 70 Countries.
    With a portfolio of over 300 brands, it is the top brewer in Europe and second in the world by revenue. Thanks to several acquisitions, the Group is continuing to grow and to expand its presence in emerging markets.

     

  • HEINEKEN Italia

    Our Italian history began in 1974, when our big family acquired Birra Dreher. Since then, we have continued to believe in this country.
    Birra Ichnusa Spa, the current brewery in Assemini (Cagliari), was acquired in 1986, while Partesa, a company specialising in Ho.Re.Ca. sales and distribution services, was established in 1989. The Pollein brewery (Aosta) was also acquired in the same year.
    In 1995 the Comun Nuovo brewery (Bergamo) joined our Group, now the largest in Italy, producing 2.7 million hectolitres of beer every year. But only in 1996, with the acquisition of Birra Moretti, did HEINEKEN Italia reach its current size.
