Brewing & Cellar Manager - SA


Ensure safety-related agenda is owned by the Brewing Department. The entire process is led according to the strategy and set priorities. Ensure and secure product of higher quality (according to production plan) and process output. Develop and optimize department resources (according to Company / SC strategy) and actively cooperate with suppliers. Define the performance agenda of the department.



  1. Implements HEINEKEN Safety, Food Safety and Sustainability standards and ensures these are embedded/applied/followed within the brewing operations, for both own and outsourced process/activities.
  2. Monitors, controls and reports Sustainability and SHE conditions and behaviors in the Brewing department and takes appropriate actions/measures to prevent them from happening.
  3. Systematically drives and owns safety improvement interventions to prevent accidents/incidents / near misses/hazards taking place in the Brewing department / Brewery.
  4. Prevents quality and food safety issues by initiating technological improvements and interacts with internal and external parties/stakeholders. Ensures close cooperation with the Quality department.
  5. Ensures correct recipe implementation.
  6. Leads development of Brewing Quality Specialist (taking the responsibilities for routine quality control) by close cooperation with Quality department.
  7. Leads AM Brewing Pillar, set up and establishing the basses, according to pillar road (step 2 and 3). Evaluates effectiveness of AM activities and identifies improvement opportunities (i.e. CILT time reduction) and cooperates with the PM, POD, and PQ Pillars.
  8. Initiates, implements and embeds improvements to Brewing production processes and procedures, according to TPM methodology.
  9. Explores and tests new opportunities for Brewing operations and support the innovation process.
  10. Manages Innovation agenda in the department (SC part).
  11. Leads technological production process in Brewing department with special focus on Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Cost, from Raw materials (acceptance & storage) to Beer production (from Brewhouse till Bright Beer transfer to Fillet), in the planned amounts and desired quality.
  12. Leads compliance with all the brewing process requirements in line with the HEINEKEN Rules, Standards and Procedures, local legislation, and country standards.
  13. Ensures continuous improvement in the execution of activities to meet output requirements & assures continuous performance improvements.
  14. Leads and ensures that all brewing equipment is maintained at optimal/minimal costs and in line with HEINEKEN Standards and applicable regulations and according to the budgeted cost by close cooperation with the Maintenance / Engineering department of the Brewery.
  15. Leads integrating of Utilities into Brewing department.
  16. Effectively organizes Brewing department and leads a team of people including recruitment, performance management, and (career) development, according to the HEINEKEN procedures.
  17. Implements and challenge the strategy by mobilizing and directing departments’ people.
  18. Planes and leads, developing people’s capability & knowledge towards World-Class performance.
  19. Provides clear and accurate information on the brewing performance, according to performance KPI’s to the upper levels.
  20. Identifies and leads key performance data collection and reports in order to maximize and improve operational and business performance activities by active cooperation within the Brewery.
  21. Plans staffing and resources to the appropriate brewing activities, and leads the execution and progress of the brewing planning, including productivity, priority setting, and daily adjustments/instructions.
  22. Drives department plans/budget to support the delivery of Company supply chain strategy and proactively shares good practices.
  23. Leads to effective communication and cooperation with the suppliers. Supports the process of choosing the best supplier (machine, material, etc.) that meets HEINEKEN standards.
  24. Leads involvement of the suppliers not only in troubleshooting but in the improvement activities and NPI’s agenda.



  • Having extensive experience in the production of a FMCG of a Multinational Company
  • Minimum bachelor degree (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology)
  • Experience (including Management Experience) 10 years in different areas of production.
  • Experience in implementing TPM/TQM or similar system
  • Fluent in English in oral and written, full professional proficiency in communicating & presenting 
  • Have good leadership & managerial capabilities
  • Quick learner with deep curiosity, agile & drive to go to extra mile
