Job Purpose: Manage bottle management operations for a category (e.g. old and new bottles) for UBL, across planning & procurement, inventory management, and vendor & compliances management in order to drive adequate availability of old and new bottles at breweries across India in line with production and sales requirements

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

Planning and Budgeting Support

  • Contribute to the functional planning and budgeting exercise, by providing budgetary estimates and other information related to old and new bottle procurement
  • Participate in monthly review meets with P&L teams to assess the performance of bottle availability for each plant/brewery and implement course-corrections, as required

 

Old and New Bottle Management

  • Determine and implement an optimal strategy for sourcing of old and new bottles
  • Jointly with the supervisor, determine if current supplier ecosystem/capacities can fulfill demand; If not, determine way forward for the balance requirement through imports, new supplier onboarding in the domestic market
  • Drive availability of stock at various plants to ensure seamless manufacturing operations with no stock-outs
  • Conduct robust vendor-plant mapping in order to optimize freight costs
  • Conduct long-term planning of different SKUs, in coordination with supplier’s color run
  • Drive availability of sufficient inventory levels at each brewery based on production plan, lead time for bottle procurement and storage capacities
  • Conduct monthly monitoring of prices across breweries, and drive course-corrections, as required.

 

Contract Management

  • Lead identification/mapping of suppliers for old and new bottle procurement, oversee RFQ process and conduct bid evaluation (technical and commercial standpoint)
  • Participate in 1st level negotiations with suppliers and determine L1/L2/L3; Participate in finalization of technical requirements and commercials for bottle procurement
  • Provide recommendation on final supplier to award contract to and submit to relevant stakeholders for final approval
  • Coordinate with legal team and suppliers to execute the contract formalities for the category
  • Contribute to development of terms and conditions for contracts with external ecosystem (suppliers, vendors, agents etc.), promoting and protect UBL interests
  • Conduct periodic review of the execution of contracts (for the category) based on actual achievement; Identify gaps and lead issue resolution, as required
  • Drive timely updation of contract terms in SAP for the category
  • Obtain approvals from PCM on price changes for old bottle procurement

 

Compliances & Internal Reporting

  • Drive adherence to laid down SOPs for bottle procurement related activities
  • Build supplier awareness on UBL SOPs, compliances, buyer’s code and guidelines
  • Lead team to provide required financial reporting for each category
  • Lead team to gather and collate data/information pertaining to old bottles
  • Guide team to prepare and circulate daily reports
  • Month-to-date returns of old bottles against targets
  • New bottle usage (NBI - New Bottle Infusion) rate
  • Available stock across breweries ,Guide team to prepare and circulate monthly reports/presentations, highlighting support required, issues being faced, current plans etc.

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Build, sustain and leverage relationships with old bottle vendors (at S1 level) to coordinate and maximize old bottle procurement and availability at each plant
  • Coordinate with new bottle vendors to address production issues and shifting SKU requirements
  • Partner with brewery P&L head and brewery heads to solve operational issues and bottlenecks; Implement corrective actions collaboratively, from case-to-case basis

 

Team Management

  • Plan manpower requirements and make hiring decisions for team
  • Define targets/set goals, allocate responsibilities, and conduct performance appraisals against set targets for team members
  • Provide coaching, support, and leadership to ensure adequate skills and competencies are developed in the team
  • Take responsibility to ensure that the team imbibes the committed UBL values and culture
