About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Quality & Sourcing to drive excellence in quality management, compliance, and innovation. This role will be instrumental in strengthening our quality culture, ensuring adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and food safety management (FSM), and leading initiatives to enhance our quality agenda. The ideal candidate will have experience in brewing (preferred but not mandatory) and a strong understanding of quality regulations within USA. As the guardrail of quality, they will ensure compliance with internal and external standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Leadership & Culture
- Champion and implement initiatives to enhance quality culture and ensure compliance with Heineken quality standards.
- Act as the Site Quality Leader and Management Representative.
- Provide guidance, arbitration, and decision-making in interpreting quality and regulatory requirements to support business objectives.
- Assess skills and talent while developing team capability to meet business, customer, and regulatory needs.
- Support and advise Quality Managers on critical quality matters, including but not limited to quality agreement negotiation and implementation.
Supplier & Contract Manufacturer Oversight
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Contract Manufacturer’s (CMO) Quality Unit and systems while influencing External Suppliers to build robust, self-sufficient quality organizations.
- Ensure that investigations related to assigned Contract Manufacturers are properly conducted, have proper documentation, and have timely closure.
- Perform product risk assessments and develop control plans to prevent or resolve quality issues.
- Continuously refine test methods and protocols in collaboration with third-party agencies.
- Monitor third-party test agencies’ performance and provide complete visibility to internal stakeholders.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with R&D and operations teams to support new liquid development and production, ensuring alignment with Heineken’s quality expectations.
- Lead and execute projects focused on quality enhancement across sourcing and production.
- Support new product introductions from an operational quality perspective.
- Be able to share expertise and functional knowledge to support manufacturing processes efficiently.
Quality & Compliance Management
- Oversee QMS and FSM systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Administer policies, procedures, quality records, and external certifications.
- Manage and meet customers’ expectations for quality through the management of the CQE team.
- Coordinate and host customer, regulatory, and registrar audits, ensuring corrective actions meet customer and company expectations.
- Training & Talent Development
- Responsible for training and mentoring associates in the Quality department.
- Design, develop, or facilitate the delivery of training sessions internally and at Contract Manufacturer locations in response to quality and regulatory needs.
- Performance Analysis & Improvement
- Manage quality performance measurement and analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations.
- Interpret and apply CGMP regulations and guidance with minimal supervision
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, organizational and analytical skills to gain stakeholder alignment
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in quality management, regulatory compliance, or supplier quality in the food, beverage, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Understanding of the FSMS, HACCP, and ISO 22000
- Strong quality auditing, regulatory compliance (FDA, CGMP, ICH), and supplier management experience, but they must demonstrate adaptability to the food & beverage industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Quality auditing experience, ideally in the brewing, manufacturing, and Brewing industries.
- Food and beverage industry experience—Preferred for candidates without brewing experience, particularly in food safety management, quality control, and supplier quality management.
- Experience in quality and packaging audits – Preferred, with a focus on packaging materials, specifications, compliance, and supplier quality assessments.
- R&D Liquid Development experience – Preferred, with a focus on new product development, formulation, and ensuring alignment with quality and regulatory standards for liquid innovation.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 + Annual Bonus
