About the Role:  In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of driving strategic procurement initiatives across the Indirect functions, with a central focus on Information Technology. As the go-to technology expert for the Procurement team, you'll also navigate Professional & Business Services and dive into exciting tech-centric Commerce deals that fuel Heineken’s consumer data strategy. Your influence will extend far beyond just budget management; you'll be pivotal in consistently delivering savings, maximizing value, and fine-tuning operational efficiencies. Furthermore, you'll play a key role in shaping and enhancing company-wide procurement processes, collaborating closely with leaders across departments to forge impactful, streamlined, and cost-effective vendor partnerships. With a total spend responsibility of approximately $50 million, the possibilities for transformative procurement outcomes are boundless.

 

  • Partner with Global Procurement in the execution of global strategies while effectively developing and executing local sourcing strategies that are fit for purpose

  • Drive operational and financial performance (cost and cash), while generating value reinvestment opportunities for the business

  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding key priorities and navigating conflicting interests to develop a strategic solutions/partnerships

  • Ensure compliance with Heineken NV Procurement Policies and Procedures, mitigating risk and aligning with key performance indicators

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage sourcing and vendor/agency management strategies within a range of categories:

  • D&T

  • Data Strategy (Finance, Consumer Data)

  • Finance

  • HR (i.e. Travel, Facilities, Fleet, Temp labor, Real Estate)

  • Consulting Services (non-IT)

 

This includes executing and delivering on Procurement strategies by:

  • Understanding and incorporating external and internal dynamics to develop an aligned procurement strategy with business owners and key internal stakeholders

  • Prepare, lead and execute tenders with external vendors 

  • Negotiate with prospective vendors on matters of price, scope and contract performance, to secure the best overall value to Heineken 

  • Demonstrate contracting skills with vendors in order to secure optimal terms and conditions in tandem with legal

 

  1. Manage and develop vendors to drive value and innovation:

  • Manage relationships with Key and Tactical vendors to promote opportunities and innovation

  • Form strong relationships with vendor partners

  • Lead vendor performance reviews

  • Define commercial terms, SLAs, KPIs, etc.

  • Lead (with support) resolution of any escalation of issues with vendors

 

  1. Exercise strong Business Partnering skills:

  • Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure business needs are being addressed

  • Partner with other cross-functional leaders to implement functional processes and identify organizational improvement opportunities

 

  1. Liaise with Global and Americas Regional and Lagunitas Procurement teams

  • Collaborate with Procurement teams on various initiatives representing Heineken USA requirements

Background / Experiences:            

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, or a related field

  • 5+ years of recent procurement experience, with experience in the Information Technology category

  • Proven in-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.

  • Independent, self-motivated and results-oriented, including ability to prioritize several conflicting demands to achieve optimum performance while maintaining a sense of urgency.

  • Ability to identify and cultivate relationships with key stake holders, representing a broad range of functions and levels.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and express self in groups and one-to-one conversations.

  • Able to work with cross functional teams and demonstrate leadership regardless of role or direct reporting line

  • Demonstrated consistency and attention to detail; possesses high level of organization and strong focus on maintaining global standards and processes

  • Project Management within the Procurement scope in order to execute and complete ad-hoc projects

  • Managing high set number of suppliers, business partners and high spend

  • Ability to travel outside the US no more than 2 times a year.

Computer Skills

    • Microsoft:  Word, Excel, Power Point, PowerBI

    • Source to Pay software suite (Zycus preferred)

    • Enterprise Resource Planning Software:  SAP
