About the role:

Technical ownership of SAP throughout application lifecycle and delivering outstanding digital experiences through building out the technology ecosystem. Responsible for architecture adherence, compliance, security, operational stability and overall technical integrity of SAP. Accountable for implementing and managing digital landscape, bringing technical expertise to design relevant solutions, leading technical staff to achieve project and operational goals in the most efficient way to maintain the systems operational integrity.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership and Solution Design

  • Create, review and approve technical specifications and other documentation as required for projects or operations including SAP development and integrations to and from SAP.
  • Perform code reviews for all SAP development maintaining the HUSA standards.
  • Lead release management readiness for SAP changes to production, including code review, validation of testing, rollback plan, validation of cutover activities and security needs.
  • Coordinate SAP security authorization changes, user management in Development and Acceptance, perform semi-annual access control reviews.
  • Provide input into Testing strategy and assist with testing as needed in projects
  • Search and apply OSS notes including coordinating periodic SAP security notes


  • Partner with other D&T teams to ensure solution compatibility with strategy, standards and service model.
  • Establish effective working relationships with vendors, service provider and global operational teams to achieve established goals.

Operations & Day to Day

  • Support ongoing operations including developing minor enhancements and incident triage, coordination of the resolution along with root cause analysis and prevention of reoccurrence.
  • Manage knowledge base to ensure efficient, effective ongoing support and development


  • Serve as an advocate for emerging technologies and industry trends to bring business value and improve technology health
  • Champion opportunities, recommendations and advice that support Heineken and D&T goals.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience required in a SAP Technical role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related discipline and 5 relevant experience
  • Preferred: Beverage industry experience and experience with Agile methodologies, ITIL, and Lean Six Sigma
  • Preferred: Experience with ServiceNow, Panaya, JIRA or similar tools.

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of information systems, architecture, application development, system integration with working knowledge of both real time and batch processes, web services and APIs.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes, understanding of SAP modules SD, LE, MM, FI, CO
  • Hands-on expertise in SAP back end tables, ABAP development, LSMW, Adobe forms and comfortable in reading and debugging code.
  • Hands-on expertise in SAP Batch Jobs Management: creating, scheduling, releasing, analyzing error logs and issues related. 
  • Solid understanding of ABAP interfaces utilizing: IDocs, BAPIs, RFC, PO and experience in Enterprise Integration technologies
  • Experience managing technology vendors, consultants and developers
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex processes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts effectively within group settings
