About the Role:  

 

The Sr. Manager, Category Development covering Drug and Dollar Channel customers will be charged with driving superior sales performance through the development, delivery, and presentation of industry-leading category insights for our retailers.  Use your creativity and entrepreneurial mindset to help our Sales teams grow category and brand volume & revenue.  This person is accountable for driving insight-led presentations and forging internal and external relationships to think bigger and broader in what it means to win with distribution and assortment, category business reviews, shelf resets, innovation, and more. This role is directly responsible for but not limited to Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Family Dollar, and Dollar General.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

A strong, confident, engaging self-starter with industry and category (or shopper) expertise, with no fear in breaking down barriers and a determination to roll up sleeves to collaborate at the highest level.  Strong financial & business acumen and the ability to quantify the financial impact on assortment decisions and promotional performance.  Knows how to ask for forgiveness before permission and take risks while still building strong collaborative relationships.

 

  • Be a go-to leader and star performer for development & delivery of category insights and Joint Business Plans
  • Drive the Off Premise Channel strategies through compelling storytelling demonstrating ‘Why Heineken USA’ for all mandatory SKUs.
  • Drive the HUSA assortment strategy that demonstrates the power of HUSA’s brands

•     Provide leadership around the development and weekly tracking of category performance and Joint Business Planning activities

•     Deliver category insights and trend analyses to customers and HUSA National Accounts team

•     Collaborate with the Consumer and Market Intelligence team to identify shopper insights and opportunities

•     Develop selling tools in collaboration with the National Accounts team to capitalize on Category and High End volume opportunities

 

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree             
  • 5+ years Category or Shopper experience AND/OR  Regional and Independent experience (Customer Facing)
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI, Spectra, Household Panel), and consumer/shopper insights required
  • Minimum 21 Years of Age (at time of hire)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPG / Adult Beverage Industry experience preferred
  • Exposure to retail account management and beverage distribution models preferred
