Title:  Sales Representative

Role Purpose:

The Sales Representative is responsible for expanding Distell Spirits & Wines Tanzania Limited’s brand presence and distribution within an assigned territory. This position is crucial in achieving volume, value, and execution targets, while ensuring that the company’s brands continue to lead the market.

 

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

 

Strategic & Financial Delivery

  • Deliver volume and revenue targets as per operational plans.
  • Ensure call compliance, strike rate performance, and effective order generation.
  • Manage cash, credit, stock, and company assets responsibly.
  • Execute cycle activities, activations, and monitor ROI.

Operational Execution

  • Achieve sales, volume, and value targets consistently.
  • Identify and convert new sales opportunities to increase coverage.
  • Negotiate listings, space, and SOVI across channels to drive AVAILABILITY and ACCESSIBILITY.
  • Ensure RSSP price adherence to support brand AFFORDABILITY.
  • Execute promotions and cycle plans on time and in full.
  • Maintain strong product and system (SFA) knowledge.

Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and understand route‑based needs.
  • Resolve customer queries effectively and ensure OTIF delivery.
  • Maintain an accurate customer database with quality inputs on SFA.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other internal teams to drive shared objectives.

Innovation & Growth

  • Identify business opportunities and propose solutions to improve execution and efficiency.
  • Provide timely insights on market dynamics, competitor activities, and process improvements.

Leadership & Self‑Development

  • Demonstrate self‑leadership and represent HBI as a brand ambassador.
  • Drive personal development and contribute to team goals.
  • Model HBI behaviours and exemplify leadership in market interactions.

 

Requirements for the role include the following:

  • 3-5 years of FMCG experience (Western Region market experience advantageous)
  • Valid and clean drivers license
  • A formal qualification in any Sales/Financial/Marketing or related field
  • Proven relationship building and customer management skills
  • Self-motivated and driven with right mindset
  • Coaching and people leadership skills
  • Problem solving skills.
