Position Title: Sustainability Affairs Head

Job Purpose:
The Sustainability affairs head will be responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of CSR policies and initiatives within the company to build positive reputation and unique projects for the OpCo.
The sustainability affairs head shall conduct research and need assessment to come up with ideas, develop policies, create detailed plans, build relationship with partner organizations, and then implement and coordinate a range of activities and initiatives which are designed to positively impact on the environment and local communities.
This sustainability affairs head shall also establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of CSR initiatives and ensure the company is progressing toward its sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop sustainability strategy
- Provide insights, input, and develop strategic direction to execute unique, sustainable, and scalable community project.
Conduct community need assessment
- Annually/ on need-basis conduct a need assessment of community members to address key community needs.
- Define criteria for beneficiary selection, execute operating environment scan that takes into consideration federal and state government priorities, overall national agenda and issues at stake.
Responsible consumption agenda
- Define and execute OpCo responsible consumption agenda in line with Global expectations.
- Ensure regular update and completeness of contact data.
- Develop relationship management platforms for key stakeholders
- Track changes in responsible officers, directives and relevant policy changes across all regulatory agencies. Develop a stakeholder map & engagement plan.
Create win-win compliance environment.
- Ensure proactive management of issues and stay alert to developments that may impact the business agenda.
- Develop and drive active collaboration with counterparts in peer group companies to secure industry alignment of common regulatory matters.
- Create and sustain opportunities and a two-way communication for mutual understanding and cooperation with all regulatory agencies.
Develop sustainability strategy
- Provide insights, input, and develop strategic direction to execute unique, sustainable, and scalable community project.
Develop and implement external communications and engagement strategy
- Develop and disseminate Heineken Ethiopia story and corporate narrative across external stakeholders. Responsible for improving the image of a company by generating positive publicity through social media, press, word-of-mouth. In case of a crisis, formulate a response and find a way to frame it in the best possible light (drafting press release, reach out to media outlet ….)
- Develop position statements and media material for Heineken Ethiopia to support its proactive corporate affairs work, material to manage current areas of issue in the industry or Beer Sectoral Group or events to promote its brands.
- Through regular media releases and activity, position Heineken Ethiopia as a market leader in the areas of social sustainability projects, moderation
- Develop a media plan for all projects and engagements and track share of voice
Deliver on our BABW commitments
- Define and deliver social impact projects in line with agreed timeline
- Deliver on HAF projects in line with agreed timeline
- Build and drive effective responsible consumption campaign
Job Requirements
Experience and Skills
- At least 8 years spent in experience in consulting/business advisory, legal practice, consumer goods industry.
Education
- Secondary level education in relevant fields including, Economics, Political Science, Law, Communications, Journalism with 10+ years’
