Position Title: Forklift Truck Operator

Job Purpose:
Forklift Truck operator is responsible to execute goods transport from warehouse to loading area, from offloading area to storage area and moving of items from warehouse to warehouse in a safe and efficient ways. He/she is responsible for conducting the movement of goods efficiently, professionally, and safely within the time frame of allotted. He/ She transports different raw materials, packaging materials, chemical, CO2 cylinders, empty pallets, finished products and RPM from place to place, and load / unload to/from trucks within the time frame that seated as a standard. The FLT operator is also responsible for Mainor maintenance and CILT execution of the machine.
Key Responsibilities
- Act in accordance with the safety regulations.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Stimulate an open environment where safety is put first, by sharing safety concerns, acting as an example and addressing each other on safety.
- Report an unsafe situation or accident.
- Propose countermeasures to reduce safety risks related to operating Material Handling Equipment.
- Report and monitor the energy consumption of the warehousing operation.
- Ensure FLT compliance to the SHE standards and requirements to operate safely.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, near miss etc to immediate supervisor timely.
- Follow company set rules and guidelines for safe and authorized operations of FLTs. Do not use FLTs for unauthorized operations.
- Ensure the forklift trucks safety feature should be in place and functionality (Blue spots, PDS.)
- Perform activities according to received instruction and applicable procedures.
- Apply 5S in workplace and perform tasks and activities accordingly.
- Ensure warehouse environment and operations comply with 5S principles.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects of SLP Pillar.
- Ensure all stocks are correctly picked from the lot/batch and location as specified by warehouse coordinator/team leader.
- supply of materials to the WWTP, Brewhouse, chemical preparation room, packaging department and CIP stations.
- The Operator is responsible to execute goods movement in the warehouse in a safe and efficient way based on the directions of the Warehouse Administrator.
- Unloading packaging material supplies, empties coming back from the market and market returns.
- Unloading of full beer from the palletizer and move to the designated Full warehouse based on the instruction of TL/ coordinators.
- Transfer of wastes and broken glass from packaging lines to crashing/damping site and load on to trucks.
- Ensure that logistics and sales operations are not disrupted due to FLT operations.
- Assist in the effective completion of inventory count and audit.
- Servicing the packaging lines by supplying them with packaging materials, putting away the finished goods into storage and returning (partially used) packaging materials from production.
- Loading trucks with finished goods to be delivered to customers.
- Maintaining the material handling equipment / forklift truck (FLT) in good condition.
- Performing internal movements, (re)packing, value added services, scrapping and other relevant warehouse activities
- The warehouse operator can drive the FLT or control other material handling equipment, pick mixed pallets, manually load and/or palletize amongst others.
- The warehouse operators interact with direct colleagues daily, administrators, team leader, packaging operators and truck drivers.
- Move goods from the right source to the right destination, in the right time and quantity within a certain area of responsibility. For example (un)loading, line feed, line discharge, etc.
- Regularly inspect and ensure goods to determine the size is not above the FLT lifting capacity and stability of the load before start moving and check that the goods will move safely.
- Adapt the manipulations of the goods according to their weight, fragility, dangerousness.
- Verify / compare the conformity of a product, on one or several aspects.
- Ensure the conformity of the order in a concern of traceability.
- Respect the regulations of road safety and LSC rules.
- Perform cleaning and housekeeping activities.
- Regularly inspect the outer packaging quality of incoming and outgoing goods. Quickly separate quality defective goods in stock.
- Implement processes for efficient and timely reporting of quality performance and issues.
- Hold regular meetings with teams to: Reinforce quality assurance awareness, discuss quality issues and possible solutions
- Receive, sort, store, repair or scrap and issue RPM. Control empty pockets.
- Safely operate and control material handling equipment like FLTs.
- Only operate equipment in case of in possession of a relevant certificate/valid license.
- Inspect before start shift. Report issues on time.
- Follows assets and equipment maintenance schedule as per regulations applicable (supplier, local, Heineken, etc.).
- Maintain assets and equipment according to the applicable regulations and ensure correct utilization
- Ensure all available assets and equipment are properly used according to specifications and purpose.
- Record completed maintenance activities
- Propose opportunities to reduce running costs of assets and equipment.
- Ensure all warehousing and equipment are maintained in good working conditions.
- Initiates actions to improve in safety, warehousing processes, assets, stock quality and/or inventory management
- Participates in TPM improvement activities.
- Actively be part of the team. We only win together. Work on personal development via own PDP.
Job Requirements
Education
- High School Completed
Experience and skills required
- 1 year plus in Logistics
- FLT driver’s license/certificate. Local language.
- Barcode scanning / working with a handheld terminal / RF device (if WMS is applicable)
