Material planner - Planning and S&OP

 

Job Purpose

Oversees raw and pack material acquisition and manages inventories to ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules and required safety standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 
  1. Follows up on local and imported raw and pack material.
  2. Shares raw and pack material monthly forecast with the procurement team.
  3. Calculates the market coverage for each scenario with the supply planner to have a full view of scenarios that might happen in case material got delayed.
  4. Conducts regular inventory checks and ensures that there are enough stocks for the next four weeks for local material and six weeks for imported material. 
  5. Creates codes for all material and inputs any new products on the system.
  6. Creates codes for chemicals in the plant.
  7. Reviews safety stock parameters for all raw and pack materials. Follows up on any below safety material.
  8. Reviews planning parameters such as lead time and lot size.
  9. Follows up on material under inspection to be released or rejected based on quality.
  10. Aligns with the procurement department on purchase requests and purchase orders. Abides by safety standards (material shelf-life) when placing any purchase orders.
  11. Develops call-off plans for PET (Plastic) and other material.
  12. Monitors potential versus actual scrapping costs.
  13. Attends meetings with the technical director, plant managers and the supply chain department managers to discuss safety coverage for raw and pack.
  14. Develops a monthly Risk of Expiry report and ensures the availability of sufficient material before expiry.
  15. Conducts bottle planning and creates a report of all the bottles needed to be produced.
  16. Collaborates with the marketing team to create labels for products and ensures the labels are delivered on time.
  17. Visits the plant monthly and provides needed support.
  18. Ensures that the amount grapes and concentrate harvested are sufficient for the whole year.
  19. Conducts dead stock analysis to identify which materials are obsolete.
  20. Ensures smooth phase out and phase in to maximize saving.
  21. Reports any shelf-life risk directly to the management team through email.
  22. Presents different scenarios to mitigate any risks in case of material shortage and seeks approval from the management team.
  23. Investigates any safety stock depletion.
  24. Ensures that TPM standards are constantly met.

Education & Experiences

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Engineering is preferable

Years of Experience

0-1 years of experience in supply chain roles like material planning and management, planning/forecasting role, logistics, warehousing, preferably in FMCGs.

Qualifications & Other Requirements 

Excellent command of English Language

Skills in Microsoft (Excel & PowerPoint) and Power Bi

Profound experience, with advanced ERP systems, e.g. SAP and planning tools, e.g. FuturMaster

Supply Chain certifications like CPIM is a plus
