Head of Corporate Affairs

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to setup and implement the Corporate Affairs Strategy in ABC in line with Global and Regional Strategies and serving the local priorities. The Head of Corporate Affairs manages and executes Al Ahram Beverages Company's (ABC) corporate affairs activities by managing stakeholders and regulators, supporting communication, image, and reputation programs, and achieving sustainability targets.


Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Support

1. Works closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the ABC license to operate is always maintained

2. Oversees the implementation of the relevant CA action plan set in the relevant must win battles

3. Ensures adherence to HEINEKEN crisis management and responsible of updating the crisis contacts regularly

4. Sets up the relevant action plans under each pillar of the CA Strategy to ensure the business objectives are met (communications, sustainability, government, and public affairs)

5. Develops the CA team into a strategic business enabler

6. Works closely with Legal to ensure awareness of and compliance to all applicable laws and regulations

7. Custodian of the corporate visual identity and oversees the compliance to its guidelines by all relevant stakeholders

8. Liaises with the Global and Regional teams to ensure alignment on plans and ongoing updates on results

9. Safeguards the company reputation by proactive mitigation and / or reactive measures vis a vis all stakeholders (all functions)

10. Assesses the suitability of different Global Projects and initiatives to local context and propose relevant local solutions (labelling, harm reduction,….)


External stakeholder management

1. Sets up, manages and updates different stakeholders (government, NGOs, media, agencies,…) proactively in order to call out for assistance as needed.

2. Seeks out new business possibilities and assists ABC in preserving goodwill with stakeholders.

3. Drives internal and external business communication while providing corporate advice to internal stakeholders with their projects.

4. Ensures that the corporate key messages are set up and oversees the training of relevant spokesperson/s on them

5. Strengthens employees’ advocacy to ensure wider communication of corporate projects and messages

6. Continuously communicates the corporate key messages to stakeholders when and where relevant

7. Sets up plans to ensure employer brand is strengthened vis a vis the relevant external stakeholders in line with the company reputation results and the ABC priorities


Education & Experiences

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mass Comms

Years of Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience preferably in multinational FMCGs.

Qualifications & Other Requirements

  • Excellent command of English Language
  • ExSkills in Microsoft (Excel & PowerPoint) and Power Bi is a plus
