Job Purpose  

The Corporate Communications Manager is a strong storyteller who plays a key role in building and maintaining the reputation and positive standing of Al-Ahram beverages company responsible through effective communications to position and enhance the corporate brand’s visibility in the eyes of our customers, employees, investors, stakeholders, and the public at large. Responsible for corporate brand management and implementing the branding plans marketing materials, media, social media, sponsorships, and events in line with the brand guidelines, local brand and business strategy and the overall Heineken global objectives to drive the visibility and reputation of the brand.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Internal Communications 

  • Ensure proper communication of management’s objective to the employees. 
  • Develop channels for two-way communication between the management and employees. 
  • Motivate and empower employees through effective and open communication.  
  • overlooks the internal communications messages across the business using different and innovative channels (Workplace, Townhalls, newsletter, screens, etc).  
  • Ensures employees are updated and connected to our brands in alignment with Marketing team 
  • Design and drive the execution of the Business Townhalls – work with senior Management and stakeholders to draft key messages and topics, advise and ensure execution of relevant and engaging content delivery, design materials. 
  • Design and drive the execution of the employee’s engagement agenda and activities to drive and boost engagement in alignment with HR, MT and concerned parties. 
  • Oversee the creation of attractive content and design internal campaigns on various topics and implement them to enhance employee understanding of business news, objectives and strategy, key projects, cultural development, and business change.  
  • Manage and Maintain company-wide calendar of all events, announcements, and visits. 
  • Be an active member in the Climate committee, act as a communication advisory board, come-up wityh creative communication solutions  and own the CA related topics as part of the committee duties.  

 

External Communication & Crisis Management  

  • creating a compelling brand story and messaging via developing strategic objectives and tactics that realize ABC’s brand and communication strategy executed  throughout different external platforms ( I.e. Social media, print media, digital media , website, editorials, bylined articles, speaking opportunities ..etc)  
  • Manage and maintain PR agency relationship and ensure timely and effective delivery of agreed objectives and projects.  
  • Oversee and ensures tracking of media monitoring, Social media listening topics and report alert news or mention to head of CA and relevant internal parties.  
  •  Conduct business climate reports, annual CA landscape reports, and economic bitesize reports to ensure the MT and relevant leadership team members have access to information that shape their business acumen and decision-making process.   
  • Oversees the effective creation and execution of external communication content though (example: speeches, press kit, press release, blogs, articles, website and social media content ,  bylined articles , press conferences, etc.)  
  • Develop relations with media through meetings and interactions with relevant media representatives and serve as primary contact for ABC media relations & inquiries.  
  • During crisis oversee the action plan for ensuring timely intervention with media to position ABC in a positive frame 
  • Oversee arrangements and conduct media handling training for senior management and all concerned to ensure proper message is communicated to media. 
  • Lead implementation of awareness programs through conventional media as well as digital media channels. 
  • Undertake activities pertaining to strengthening ABC brand and nurturing of ABC’s corporate image. 
  • Drive effective and creative execution of Digital Communication Strategy.  
  • Develop social media strategy and calendar to advance corporate brand objectives with the general public. 
  •  effectively manage and update of the corporate website and related assets. 
  • Supports the execution of mandatory crisis simulations and reputation research as per the Global calendar. 
  • Setup and execute relevant engagement opportunities (sponsorships, conferences, speaking opportunities) 
  • support the head of CA Draft GM speeches in external events. 
  • support the Head of CA on the GM profiling plan for brand visibility in the Egyptian market.  

 

Budget Management  

 

  • Set annual Budget for planned activities in partnership with finance Business Partner 
  •  Budget Management & spend tracking. 
  •  Ensure corporate governance compliance to local laws and regulations, ABC and global Heineken processes.  
  • Effective cost management and ensure best pricing through partnering with Procurement. . 

 

Brand, Sponsorships & Events management 

 

  • Ideate brand sustenance activities in coordination with the team 
  • Supervise the corporate brand marketing literature and campaigns and sign off from head of Cs,  with legal and compliance personnel, ensuring the designs and messages meet the company brand and regulatory guidelines 
  • Identify and interface with advertising / communication agencies to execute branding, 
  • promotion/advertising campaigns and ensure adequate coverage of the events in the concerned. 
  • media space 
  • Lead negotiations with vendors like advertising houses, event & activation agencies, media agency, 
  • PR agency etc. on the various business communication related projects, etc. 
  • Lead the design and development of promotional materials, publications, and marketing collaterals 
  • Manage  marketing events, trade shows, exhibitions, employment fairs, and corporate events to reach audience directly 
  • Showcase the company’s corporate brand, sustainability & CSR efforts at various events for enhancing the brand proposition and wherever possible liaise with Marketing team for opportunities that match products showcasing and promotion. 
  • Drive efficiency in processes by identification of cost-effective channels for effective brand related 
  • publicity and advertisement. 
  • Plan activities for internal and external events as per the yearly CA calendar of events and directives of top management (i.e. Town Hall, visits, Christmas parties, Ramadan Employee event, Corporate Brand related events at Chambers, Dutch Embassy, relevant partners and stakeholders …etc ). 
  • Assess, plan and Manage ABC corporate brand presence through, Sponsorships, conferences, speaking opportunities image and brand presence.  
  • Ensure proper messaging and branding done through the collaterals 
  • Ensure smooth organizing of the event and proper representation of ABC during and in relevant media platforms post the event.
  • People Management 
  • Allocate work tasks, conduct periodic reviews & provide feedback to the team to enable capability 

Development 

  • Coach and motivate the team to ensure effective workstream management and results oriented delivery. 
  • Ensure a collaborative working environment within the team and effective resolution of team issues through appropriate actions 

  

Qualifications/ Experience / skills required per job levels. 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Mass media & Public Relations, journalism or Marketing 
  • Min 6  years of experience in Corporate Communication & Brand Management  
  • Experience in managing small teams. 
  • Excellent stakeholders Management  
  • Very good knowledge of communications principles, methodologies, and tools 
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal in English & Arabic languages  
  • Flexible, adaptable; able to work in various and challenging situations, dealing with complexity and time pressure. 
  • Able to work effectively and build relationships at all levels in an organization. 
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others. 
  • Critical business expertise and understating of business climate and challenges.  
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
