Facilities & Civil Engineer

Job Purpose

The Facility Engineer organizes and supervises all 3rd party Contractors and/or Engineers required for the general upkeep and maintenance of all CBL Buildings, roads, drainage systems, lighting, fire alarms, ventilation, Air-conditioning, sewage systems, etc. The Facility Engineer assists the Chief Mechanic to set-up and continuously improve a maintenance system covering all CBL buildings and other infrastructure.  He can work independently and with other brewery personnel. The Facility Engineer can also work on projects related to buildings and infrastructure in the CBL premises. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. He participates in plant safety, health and energy savings, and participates or leads improvement teams.


Job Description

Minimise service problems of buildings and/or infrastructure

  • Problem analysis
  • Contact/contract the relevant contractors
  • Check and agree quotations together with purchasing specialists
  • Supervise (civil and electrical and plumbing) contractors
  • Accept and/or reject contractor works
  • Organize periodic preventative maintenance and inspections of all electrical, cooling, ventilation, sewage, control systems, security cameras, fire alarms, etc.

Cost efficiency in Energy & water

  • Optimise energy and water consumption and costs in buildings and offices using TPM Methodologies, proposing new technologies or in any other possible way

Standard way of working are well implemented

  • Assist Chief Mechanic to create and implement Procedures, SOP’s & WI’s.

Report submitted timely & correctly

  • Create or request reports on all activities from contactors
  • Analyse the report and give recommendation to superior for necessary actions for improvement


  • Actively involved as member / leader in Team, 5S, CILT, RCFA

Clean and Hygienic working environment

  • Implementing personal hygiene.
  • Cleaning of working area and tools or supporting material.

Continuos Improvement 

  • Proactively conduct self learning & development to increase competency level
  • Continuously  find  ideas for improvemen

Legal Compliance

  • Ensure compliance to all local rules and regulations
  • Ensure compliance to all Heineken rules and regulations


Job Requirement

Level of Education: University Dgree

Field of Education: Engineering Mechanical/Electric / Automation / IT or similar

Year of Experience: Preferably one year in similar position

Specific Skill and Knowledge:

  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Construction knowledge
  • Ventilation/Air-conditioning/drainage/sewage

Functional Competencies:

  • General technical understanding
  • Word/Excel/Powepoint/Email

Leadership Competencies:

  • Able to supervise contractors
  • Ability to work independently
